Learning Everyday

Azimuth can now say "Tickle tickle tickle" pretty reliably. He also knows how to say "Guzzle guzzle guzzle". The sound kind of similar. When we say "Hands up, spaghetti-up" he puts his arms up so we can put his tray on the high chair.

He is also learning to use sippies instead of bottles and he eats a ton when he gets hungry. We are so glad to have such a well mannered child. I hope everyone out there is going to have a very happy New Year. Any good resolutions?

Christmastime

I have not been the best blogger lately. We have all been keeping very busy and just returned from spending a week at my mom's house. What fun! And now a picturie journey of our time since school ended.

We spent some time in the library. Here is Azimuth in the cool loft they have there. He loves to climb the stairs and is eager to learn to climb back down. Sadly, he will not be able to go to storytime for a while because it is impossible for him to sit still, but we will still have our library time.

Here we are at my school. The whole family got to spend some time outside before it got so dreadfully cold. I really should have cropped out my shadow.

Here is Azimuth at my mom's house wearing a new hat. The big brown dog is named Muddy. The dogs all love to be in the pictures.

While we were in Billings there was a fire at an oil refinery. You could see the smoke from so far away. We got pictures. While we were at my mom's work there was an announcement that the coker had caught on fire. It was quite an exciting Christmas Eve. There was even insulation falling from the sky, but I never got a good picture.

Look what we found at my mom's work! We just had to bring him home. Luckily there were lots of clothes and presents waiting for this little guy.

Here is Azimuth just hanging out on his tigger ridey toy. His Great Grandma Doze got him this toy. Can you see the dog in this picture?

We took Azimuth to the mall and I couldn't resist putting him on one of those mechanical thingies. He wasn't so sure about the whole thing. Oh well, maybe when he is older.

Here is Gramma Sue's Christmas tree. Doesn't it just look lovely. There were more presents on Christmas day, but Gramma was worried her cat would try to unwrap them if we put them out too early.

I can't believe I didn't get any pictures on Christmas day. I was soo busy. This is the only one I got in the morning. Poor Gramma Sue, even her grown up children can't sleep on Christmas Eve. Azimuth thought it would be grand to get up at 5am and his uncles were both there to greet him and his restless mom.

Here is THE present. I am excited this is finally finished. I started this project when I was four months pregnant because I thought I should try a big project. It is green because I didn't even know whether he was a boy or girl when I started. Grammy bought the supplies at our local yarn shop. Thank you Grammy. I wish you were here to see how perfectly it fits. It just needs a button. Now I will be off to try something new.

I hope everyone has had a good holiday season. Keep us informed about how the rest of the world is doing. And for now, I say, Good Day.

The beauty of words

Azimuth is not excited about learning words. After all, you do not need words to sing and dance. Which are two of his favorite things.

Another of his favorite things also happens to have been his first word: kitty (pronounced eeykdee). He has dabbled in the words mumumumuh and dadadadah, but today we were watching his other favorite thing and he attempted to say 'kite' (aayite).

So here is a video to share with you all on behalf of Azimuth, because words just can't capture the beauty...

Back From Denver

Well we got back from Denver on Monday night. We had an pretty good time at the zoo, but it is just not the same the second time around, and Azimuth is a bit young to get the full affect. He thought the penguins were a hoot though.

I don't have any pictures because I just now found the camera. But here are some random ones for your visual enjoyment.

Here is Azimuth with his new pal Minty. His shirt looks awful, but he has just been drooling so much lately.

And here is another photo showing the joy that a newly crocheted toy can bring... For all of ten minutes. *sigh* At least I enjoy making them.

And here is what happens when you let a baby feed himself yogurt. There is some oreo mixed in for extra color. What Joy!

That was definitely a bath night.

Anyway, we are glad that Azimuth's daily dose of nasty tasting medicine is keeping him seizure free. We don't have to freak out when he holds his breath anymore. Yay for the wonders of modern medicine and for the wonders of government healthcare.

I might start posting some more crafts if you guys liked seeing Minty. I might post them even if you didn't, but let me know anyway. I like to craft in my free time, which happens to be few and far between, but I have discovered the joy of crochet and how much quicker it is then knitting. Plus I like how you can free form things as you go.

Thanks for reading. I will try to post more, but right now I have a Discovery Notebook to do and a paper and a presentation and other assignments that I won't bother to go into the boring details of.

That's all for now. Take care everyone.

Apologies for not posting. School has been crazy. I would like to note that Azimuth is now officially biting and chewing. I know it might sound rather trivial, but we do not miss the choking and the mushing.

In other food related news, I only have one picture available. I have misplaced my camera but husband used his special (and super-confusing) camera to get this lovely item. Azimuth got to eat a butter biscuit, some yogurt, and an oreo. Here is the aftermath.

This is one of those times where you don't even bother with wet wipes. Straight into the tub we went. Azimuth loves bath time. Hopefully this won't become incentive for making a mess. :)

In other news, Azimuth's seizures have come back. This time they are more frequent and we will be going down to Denver on monday. Poor boy has to go to the doctor on his birthday. We will have a party for him Saturday and Sunday. Thanks to all who sent presents and money. He will have so many gifts to open since I could not resist wrapping our presents for him too.

I will try to find my camera, or I will have Shawn take the pictures with his camera. I cannot take them unless I get step-by-step instructions. It is a pain with all the widgets and f-stops and other things. However, they do take beautiful photos.

Thanks for reading.

Happy Halloween

Tonight was the perfect night for an adventurous little monkey to set out trick or treating. The weather was perfect, there was a full moon, and it was a bit chilly with a light wind. It was very storybook-like. If that is a word. We even got to see the minister that married us again and we met the dog that sometimes greets us when we come outside.

Now onto the pictures.

Here we are setting out on our journey. Notice how excited he is.

And here he is afterward, a bit winded. We let him bring a couple cucumber slices and he didn't let go of them until he got home. He must get that from his Grammy and Great Granny. Doesn't he look a bit sleepy. Oddly enough, he saw nothing strange about us knocking on a lot of doors and getting candy.

Here is the bootie. Someone was nice enough to give us a little stuffed pelican. We even got some Teddy Grahams that he can eat. Though mom and dad might have to find some way to dispose of the rest.

And here are some random photos of the costume in more detail. Here he is trying it on and the second picture was us attempting to go to a Halloween Party at the wrong place, on the wrong day, at the wrong time. lol See what happens when your brain is addled by school, work, and babies?

Thanks for reading. I hope you all had a wonderful Halloween. I will try to post a bit more from now on, but no promises. :)

For Anyone Thinking About Birthday/Christmas Presents

Garanimals has released a new line of toys marketed at infants. These are available at Walmart. I was amazed at the cheap prices and solid construction. A lot of them are made of wood and I have not found any that are battery operated. :)

Azimuth does not know it, but he already has a small wire toy and a stacking ring toy. Please don't tell him and ruin the surprise. ;) Azimuth could really use a peg board and shape sorting toys. Also nesting things are good.

These are just a few ideas. Anything else you want to get him would be fine. Excluding guns and choking things. This kid loves board puzzles and momma likes him to have books. He wouldn't know if you got him hats, socks, bibs, or the like.

In future I will post more ideas as they come to me. Thank you for reading this.

Why do they have to get sick?

Azimuth is okay and there is no need to worry. But I just need to vent. He is all sleepy and he totally exploded last night. Literally. Four to six ounces :( We called the doc and got as much pedialite into him as we could. It is just so sad. He has fallen asleep in my arms a few times and I love being there for him. I just wish I could do homework at the same time... or not. I hate writing papers.

A New Movie

This is a video I have been meaning to make for some time now. Azimuth is a much better crawler and more adventurous. I hope you all enjoy.

I will also be uploading a clip of Azimuth crawling once I can figure out how to get it on the computer. Thanks for watching. :)

They Grow Up So Fast

Hello everyone. Sorry I haven't posted in a while. I have been so busy with school and work lately. I have also been crafting when I have the time. I have to sneak the fabric in at bedtime because, as you can see below, I have help. I am also going to become a literacy volunteer, so free time will be prioritized with family time at the top and blogging, sadly towards the bottom.

Look who finally got some teeth. When they finally grow in he will have buck teeth. lol

What better to do with new teeth than to eat a shoe. mmmm.

And an orange ring. What an awesome hair day.

Azimuth has gotten quite good at climbing.

And has learned to fall. :( He is so good at recovering though. But why do they have to bleed?

He also is very curious. He gets antsy if we don't take him out to explore often enough. Bu now that the snow has begun that will take a bit of creativity on our part.

Thank you to Great-Granny for sending this awesome riding toy.

It might have to wait for his birthday or Christmas. He is okay though. His first ouchie was not from this picture.

And thank you to Great Auntie for this fantastic bib. Momma is going to be making some once she pulls out the sewing machine to make a halloween costume.

New Video

This is the bunny song. He sings this song to his little bunny.

Sorry it is so dark. If I turn on the light he is so distracted by it that he won't keep doing whatever it is I wanted to record. So I have to sneak up on him.

Also, there is another video I couldn't get posted, so I put it on Youtube.
Here is the link:

Thanks for watching. Let me know what you think.

To celebrate the fact that Azimuth stood up, but also the realization that I don't have a big project due this tuesday, I have decided to bake a loaf of bread. But I didn't want just any boring old loaf of bread. I used our wok to steam up some read bread.

It looks like it should have flavoring in it, but it doesn't. So in the end, it just tastes extra bready. It really jazzes up a peanut butter sandwich. Here is the picture before it was cooked. I cut it up into smaller loaves, but I can't get the pictures to load. They ended up looking like lungs which is great for Halloween.

And here is Azimuth enjoying some of the delicious red bread. It looks like watermelon in this picture. He looks so tired because he hasn't been taking naps when he needs to lately.

Thanks you to everyone who had us over for reunions and accommodated us, transported us, gave us a car, got us into the zoo, and fed us this summer. We all had a great time.

That is all for now. Have a great day!

Standing!

Azimuth just stood up. He fell shortly after, but there was a good period of balancing so it wasn't just a slow fall. We didn't have a chance to get a picture though.

So he has no teeth, but he has already stood unsupported.

Finally Online

I hope the world hasn't deteriorated too much from my severe lack of posting. lol I have started school again and will now be able to make regular updates. So first we went to the family reunion in Kansas, where we said good bye to Shawn's parents. We miss them a lot. But we are doing well on our own. I hope you guys are enjoying Australia.

Here is Azimuth relaxing in a saucer and being very excited over his new toy.

While in Kansas we went to a swamp and walked around. Here are some bugs we saw.

That swamp also had ticks, and what we assume was Lyme's disease. But I am all better now, and the only symptom I experienced was the bulls eye rash.

More pictures from the swamp.

And pictures of family. The baby's look a bit distracted.

Here is Azimuth looking at some lions in the Kansas City Zoo (which isn't in Kansas).

The cousins got to play together. Unfortunately, Hayden has such pretty hair that was so great for pulling.

On the way home we saw a Winery and Gas Station. I can't imagine what wonderful wines you might find at such a place.

Shortly after we got home from Kansas we went to Billings for another family reunion. Azimuth got a chance to practice his eating at my mom's house.

Then we went to the Beartooth Mountains and were attacked by chipmunks.

Then we climbed this hill, which we named Marmot Mountain.

And here is a picture from our family reunion.

That is all for now.

This is why I hate ticks

That is what it looks like. I have Lyme disease. The test came back negative but that is common for early onset Lyme's. We suspect Shawn may have it so now we are both on antibiotics that make us sensitive to the sun.

I have been rather slow about updating so I will make a few long posts over the next few days. Coming up are pictures from two family reunions.

My Video Camera is Online

I have connected my video camera to my computer. To celebrate I have uploaded a video. This is my first video, so it may not be great. I hope you like it anyway.

Long Update

I have not posted in a while so I thought I would post a bunch of pictures that have piled up on my camera. We have been keeping busy helping Shawn's parents move out of their house and getting our house cleaned up. So here are the pictures.

Here is a picture of Azimuth sleeping. Doesn't he look just look like an angel.

Here is Zaza hanging out on the bed in one of Great Aunties outfits. Please ignore the mess.

We had a house guest for a while. This is a little dog we called bug-eyes. We later learned his name was Reese's Pieces. He was so noisy all night long. Little dogs have some crazy loud toe nails and take a million little steps.

Here are a couple of food eating pics. The first one is yogurt and the second is more avocado.

This picture is for Uncle Thom. See the little guitars on it. Sorry, I forgot to rotate the picture.

Here is Azimuth playing with his food cup and spoon. I turned around and he had it up to his mouth like he wanted to eat from it. Cute. He wants to drink from cups, but doesn't know what to do with them.

Here is another picture that I forgot to rotate. He was trying to have some fake hair.

Here is Azimuth and Granny.

Azimuth was helping out at the garage sale. Some people were startled because they thought there were puppies in the box.

Here is another box picture. Grandma Sue is blowing bubbles. He is not sure what to think about them.

A picture of Azimuth and Grandma Sue. How do you like the hat?

And here is Azimuth and his new bouncy swing. He loves this thing.

I hope you enjoyed the pictures. There might be a slow down in posting over the summer. But we will have lots events and pictures to post. We will be going to two family reunions so the posts will be big. Have a great summer.
